AZMUD Consortium visit to IDAI facilities

AZMUD Consortium is visiting IDAI facilities, in order to validate the developments in the experimental field Naturalia.

The main objective of the research is to reduce the use of energy, water, nutrients and pesticides whilst promoting the use of wastewater in irrigation & soils for agro-food systems.

The project will improve the performance of Mediterranean greenhouses through the use of innovative plastic materials, natural additives and novel irrigation techniques.

31th Month Meeting

The AZMUD 31M GA Meeting was held at AIMPLAS facilities in Paterna (Valencia), Spain. It was a “face to face” meeting with all the partners of the consortium. We discussed each action for next six months ahead and shared points of view. The AZMUD PROJECT will improve the Mediterranean greenhouses performance using innovative plastic materials, natural additives and novelty irrigation technologies.

#AZMUD aims to reduce water, energy, nutrients and pesticides, whilst promoting the use of wastewater in irrigation & soilless for agro-food systems.

26th Month Meeting

AZMUD’s 26th month meeting was the last session held online and was carried out on the 19th of July 2022. Noteworthy outcomes of the meeting included the completion of AZMUD’s technologies at the laboratory level and the determination of greenhouses’ types, dimensions, locations, and the corresponding technologies to be implemented. Furthermore, extensive deliberations were held among all partners regarding the scale-up methodologies.

Additionally, the meeting focused on strategic planning related to exploitation methods, dissemination, and communication. It is worth mentioning that the subsequent meeting is scheduled to be conducted in person in Spain.

18th Month Meeting

AZMUD 18th month project meeting took place online on the 26th and 27th of January 2022. During the meeting, it was highlighted that the development of AZMUD's technologies at a laboratory scale has progressed significantly and is nearing completion, considering that several work packages have ended. The primary focus of discussion was centered around the installation and scale-up of AZMUD's technology. Additionally, the next step identified was the validation of the selected greenhouses for the implementation of the technology.

12th Month Meeting

AZMUD’s 12th month Consortium meeting took place online from April 15th to 16th, 2021. The focus of the session was to provide information of the latest advancements on the AZMUD’s technologies, focusing on providing updates on the work status, sharing the achieved results, and outlining the next steps to be taken. Additionally, a comprehensive discussion regarding the Greenhouses Pilot plants was carried out.

6th Month Meeting

Last thursday 12th Nov, our consortium was summoned together in order to arrange the M06 GA meeting of AZMUD project. The meeting started at 11:00 am (Brussels time) and completed at 17:00 pm. During this meeting, technical information was given by our partners, having as a main remark the conclusion of the first step of the project, which is on behalf of setting the requirements of the different technologies that AZMUD will be dealing with, together with the cultural, social and economical barriers that might be encountered during the project's life.

Kick off meeting

We are glad to announce that, during this past 22nd of April, it has been launched AZMUD project, by conference call due to the current COVID19 restrictions. AZMUD aims to reduce water, energy, nutrients and pesticides, whilst promoting the use of wastewater in irrigation & soilless for agro-food systems. Synergic combinations among the different proposed technologies in Mediterranean greenhouses will reduce the production cost up to 15%. To comply with this objective, AZMUD project will account with 42 months of total duration. AZMUD consortium is composed of: AIMPLAS, IDAI NATURE, Smartwall (SW), Packaging Industries Co. (PIC), Methods for Irrigation and Agriculture (MIRRA), National Research Centre (NRC), The Egyptian Russian Company for Advanced Agriculture Eco Farm (ECOFARM) and TABIT.

Thank you to all the partners and to Prima Foundation for making this Kick-off meeting run efficiently!!
